Interfaith Partnerships

Why Religion?

Forge Aide's philanthropic focus reflects the view that religious institutions and faith communities often play a significant role in social fabric of the places in which they are rooted. They can shape trust and local stability, and they are often among the first institutions through which communities organise support and public life.

Where relations between faith communities weaken, the effects are rarely confined to religious life alone. They can also affect civic confidence and the conditions in which shared spaces remain safe.

Forge Aide therefore supports work in this area because it regards religion, when engaged responsibly, as a serious social factor within civic life.

Institutional Approach

Philanthropic activity is pursued through an institutional lens. Our interest lies in work that can be organised responsibly, sustained over time and assessed against clear objectives.

Support is directed toward initiatives that protect religious freedom, encourage understanding between communities and strengthen conditions in which faith groups can gather and worship safely. The emphasis is on practical outcomes, credible partners and forms of engagement that can withstand proper scrutiny.

Who We Work With

Partnerships are organised in a way that respects each institution's identity and governance. At Forge Aide, we may work with mosques, synagogues, churches, temples and other places of worship, as well as faith-based organisations, schools, universities, research centres and community groups. We also engage with non-governmental organisations active in promoting understanding and safeguarding local communities. Our role may include support, convening capacity, funding or advisory input, depending on the nature of the work and the strength of the institutional basis.

Current areas of focus include

Interfaith dialogue and education.

Countering religious intolerance.

Community safety and resilience.

Youth and education programmes.

Freedom of religion or belief.

Research, convenings and practical projects.

These areas reflect Forge Aide's interest in projects that improve conditions on the ground, encourage cooperation between communities and support more secure environments for religious life.

How We Approach Partnerships

Partner organisations are selected for institutional robustness, community trust and relevance to the Forge Aide philanthropic focus. Proposals are reviewed for their capacity to operate in an inclusive manner and to produce practical benefit for the communities they affect. We do not engage in political campaigning; our interest lies in practical, non-discriminatory initiatives that protect faith communities, reduce harmful prejudice and encourage constructive cooperation across religious boundaries.

Review and Continuity

Philanthropic commitments are reviewed on a structured basis. Partners are expected to communicate progress in a way that allows Forge Aide to assess effect, maintain continuity where appropriate and refine support when circumstances change.

Support may be renewed or withdrawn according to the progress of the work and the circumstances of the communities involved.
